It Was Never in Their Hands Anyway
Your provision, your peace, your worth - it's always been with Allah.
Assalamu alaykum dear soul,
Can I ask you something personal?
How many times have you lost sleep over what people think of you?
How often have you felt overlooked, forgotten or frustrated because someone else seemed to have what you were desperately making du’a for?
It happens to all of us.
But here’s something our faith teaches us, and it’s so freeing when you really let it settle in your heart:
No one holds your rizq.
No one controls your future.
No one has the power to give or take what Allah has already written for you.
You could chase people’s approval. You could bend over backwards for their praise. But if it means stepping into what displeases Allah - was it ever worth it?
The Prophet ﷺ reminded us that one of the signs of true faith is to stop trying to please people if it means angering Allah.
And you know what else?
The one who praises you didn’t provide for you. The one who criticises you can’t withhold what’s meant for you. Allah alone distributes provision, peace, and contentment. Not ambition. Not envy. Not who you know or how loud you are.
Those who trust his plan live in quiet contentment. Those who doubt it live in constant misery.
So today, I just want to remind you:
It was never in their hands anyway.
Turn your heart back to the One who’s always held your rizq, your rest, and your reputation.
May Allah fill your heart with peace and protect you from chasing the temporary.
Ameen
