The simple habit that can help you complete the Qur'an every month

And why it matters more than you think

Assalamu alaykum

I wanna speak about something deeply personal -

something that changed the way I connect with the Qur’an and

I believe

can change your relationship with it too.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“The most blessed of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is a minute one.”

Sahih Bukahri

Think about that for a moment.

The most blessed deeds aren’t the huge

overwhelming ones.

They are the small

steady acts done daily -

those that become part of your rhythm

your lifestyle

your identity.

Why do we struggle with the Qur’an?

So many of us want to read more Qur’an -

to feel that closeness

to gain guidance

to heal our hearts.

But then life happens.

Work

family

worries.

The day slips away

and we find ourselves overwhelmed

wondering where to start.

What if there was a way to make Qur’an reading a natural part of your day?

A habit so simple it doesn’t feel like a burden?

The simple plan - 1 juz a day

The Qur’an is divided into 30 ajza (or parts) -

one for each day of the month.

Each juz is about 20 pages.

If you read just 4 pages before or after your five daily prayers -

(you could even do 2 pages before, then 2 pages after)

in one month

mashaAllah

you will have completed the entire Qur’an.

Four pages.
That’s all.

Why consistency beats quantity

It’s easy to feel like you need to do a lot at once -

a big Qur’an session on weekends

or only when “you feel like it.”

But the truth is

the reward is in regularity.

Consistent small actions build a foundation.

Big

irregular efforts are like sprinting -

exhausting and hard to maintain.

But slow and steady wins the race.

Allah loves the deeds done persistently

even if small.

Organise your life around worship

We often underestimate how powerful small changes can be.

Try this:
during wudhu or just before salah
remind yourself:
“I will read a few pages after this prayer.”

Create a habit loop -

prayer
reading
reflection

that keeps your heart connected.

And don’t forget:

Intention. Intention. Intention.

Every morning

make intention to read the pages after salah

so even if you forget, you inshaAllah get the reward.

If you need to, set reminders on your phone or write it somewhere you know you’ll look.

The spiritual rewards are huge

When you build this habit:

  • You become one of the guided ones (the ones who receive consistent divine mercy).

  • You find peace and joy in daily connection.

  • You see progress - not just in your reading, but in your heart and actions.

  • You invite the Qur’an’s light into every day.

What can you do today?

  • Set your intention to read 1 juz a day.

  • Tie 4 pages to your prayers, so it’s part of your routine.

  • Reflect on one ayah or story each day.

  • Share your progress with a friend or community for support (you can always share with me on insta aswell, I’d be glad to speak with you)

Consistency is a gift we can give ourselves - a gift that Allah rewards abundantly.

Start small.

Stay steady.

InshaAllah, next month, you’ll look back and smile - knowing you completed the Qur’an, page by page, prayer by prayer

May Allah bless you with istiqamah (steadfastness) and make the Qur’an the coolest part of your day.

Jazakallahu khayr for spending this time reading, if you found this helpful, share it with a friend who needs it.

P.S. I share more like this on Threads and Instagram. Come say Salaam.

Until the next letter,

with love, hidvyaa
